FURTHER INFORMATION

In this section of the river, the Salza flows through an untouched, romantic landscape of meadows and gorges.

Many guests describe this section of the river as Styrian Canada with quality class 1. At the beginning, the Salza meanders through a meadow section, starting in Halltal, before the river, flowing leisurely, circles Mariazell in the south in the scenically impressive Salzaklamm gorge.

Long trickling stretches and pools alternate. Rest areas and meadows invite you to linger. A footpath leads along the gorge. Pure relaxation and impressions of nature!

What's important to us.....

We promote native brown trout and protect grayling all year round.
