FURTHER INFO

Situated in the middle of the nature reserve in Mariazellerland, the area around Lake Hubertus was already one of the preferred hunting and fishing grounds in Emperor Franz Josef's time due to its natural beauty. A road leads around the lake.

Own belly boat allowed in the deep area of the lake! (Without technical aids or motors, no depth sounder, only with oars or fins, only with life jacket). At your own risk. Use only in the deeper part of the lake: dividing line, chapel and boathouse.

The lake offers fly fishermen and accompanying persons an exceptional environment for discoveries. The Hubertussee is fed by the crystal-clear waters of the Weiße Walster. Particularly impressive for fly fishermen are the sunrise and sunset, the spring awakening of nature, the mayfly season or autumn with its magnificent colors.

Even at higher water levels (turbidity) in the surrounding waters, the lake remains fishable with few exceptions. It acts like a sponge that binds turbidity.
The lake feeds the adjacent Walster, which flows into the Salza Halltal and then into the Salzaklamm.

What is important to us.....

We promote the native brown trout and protect the grayling all year round.
