POLARTEC POWER GRID | SPORTWOOL HYBRID FABRIC (WizWool 210)
POLARTEC POWER GRID
The patented grid construction knit strengthens performance efficiency by increasing warmth and breathability, while also reducing fabric mass. These geometric patterns improve compressibility, wicking, and add technical style. By reinventing thermal warmth possibilities, Power Grid is a minimalist design that maximizes fabric performance. Engineered for comfort.
SPORTWOOL HYBRID FABRIC
Manufactured by a Danish fabric supplier. SportWool delivers a surprising soft next-to-skin feeling. SportWool is providing a balanced insulation. Odor resistant, durable and retains heat when wet. The stretchable fabric will hug to the body and transfer moisture out while enhancing durability and resilience.
PURE MERINOWOOL (Woolly socks)
(74% merinowool, 22% nylon, 4% elastane)
- Odour resistant
FACT - Human beings: sweat Merinos natural anti-microbial properties are renowned. The key is nature providing all the answers - and not some extra chemical finishing process. Each tiny Merino fibre consists of a multitude of overlapping scales, which coupled to the high level of moisture absorption provide a poor environment for bacterial growth. Audibility: Merino is quiet and unobtrusive to wear. When fabric surfaces come into contact with one another, they don't ‘rustle’. This is associated with the movement of many synthetic fibre fabrics. You'll be surprised and impressed with your ability to move through the landscape with stealth and grace - no scaring the gold finches here. Comfort Prickle is the result of coarse, thick fibres irritating nerves in the skin. Merino’s fine narrow fibres ensure this irritation does not occur, thus preventing the prickle often associated with traditional wool. So comfortable that even babies can wear it next to skin. - Moisture control and management
Merino fibres have a complex structure with a hydrophilic (water holding) interior, known as the cortex and a hydrophobic (water repelling) exterior, known as the cuticle. Merino will absorb perspiration without making you feel damp and uncomfortable, with the added benefit of being naturally shower repellent. Thermal control natural aircon. Merino fibre buffers the body’s microclimate in changing conditions, maintaining comfort. The fibre has the added benefit that as it absorbs moisture, such as from a cool, damp environment, the fibres release a small but perceptible amount of heat. This heat is known as ‘heat of sorption’ and is generated through a chemical reaction that occurs when the water vapour binds to the chemical structure of the Merino fibre. This acts to prevent the chilling of the wearer. It is the original 'intelligent' fibre. - Easy care
The surface properties of the Merino fibre, mean that spills can be easily wiped away before causing permanent staining. Soil particles don’t ‘stick’ to the garment through electrical charge. Merinos moisture absorbing characteristics contribute to excellent wrinkle recovery of fabrics and garments, especially through the application of steam, a valuable easy care feature when travelling. - Water Absorption and the Structure of the Wool Fibre
The chemical building blocks of the wool fibre, amino acids, are hydrophilic (water-liking), meaning that they attract and absorb water molecules into the chemical structure of the fibre. - Heat of Sorption
The hydrogen bonds that bind water within wool’s structure have another important practical function within the context of wool garments; the interaction of hydrogen bonds with water is a chemical reaction. This reaction generates heat when water is bound (absorption) and takes up heat during moisture loss (desorption). This ability to absorb the water into the chemical structure of the fibre prevents the fabric from feeling wet or clammy. In comparison, man-made fibres may only absorb moisture up to 5% of their weight at the same humidity.

CARE
Wash according to the instructions below.

SPECIAL DETERGENTS
There are special detergents available that makes the outer surface of fleece water-repellent.
CARE ZIPPER
A zipper should be closed and the slider fixed before cleaning. Left open, the tip of the slider may damage the fabric or the tape may become stretched or may shrink. The gearing of the elements can be damaged by forcing a slider that does not open or close smoothly. Apply paraffin or the lubricating spray "FastenerMate" to the front side and back of the elements and move the slider up and down several times to work in the lubricant and make the slider work smoothly.
