I have been fly fishing since 1970 and started at the age of 6 with my father Fred. Friends say they built the river Mürz (at that time still with a weir made of wood and lots of insects) in front of my parents' house in Upper Styria.

Fly fishing with the single-handed, switch and double-handed rod. Further development of a well known Austrian casting style, the Austrian Gebetsroither casting style.

Familiar face at the "international world of fly fishing", the biggest fly fishing event in Europe, in Fürstenfeldbruck, near Munich.

Motto:
Fly fishing should never turn into work. 

By observing numerous fly fishermen, I learned to recognize mistakes in practice at a young age and to correct them. At that time, literature about fly fishing was mostly only available in English. Big names I looked up to were Hans Aigner and Roman Moser. 

I started thinking about the different successes of fly fishermen early on. These personal experiences, learning from nature and the many years on the water have changed and further developed my casting style in a practical way. The ideal casting technique for women and young people. 

You never stop learning when dealing with nature. The instinct to spot a fish and to catch fish with a barbless hook is something I have trained myself since childhood.

I actively supported rivers in order to be able to keep them in their current form. It also gives great pleasure to fish with young people. Through my commitment, I hope to enable future generations to fly fish. 

Travel and Surroundings:

The "Mariazellerland" with the Salza Gusswerk and the Mürz in Upper Styria, Austria offer the extraordinary environment to enjoy fly fishing and to fish on and protect my favorite fish the "grayling". 

Natural, particularly clear mountain streams and rivers that are difficult to fish are my passion. Fair and careful handling of the creature is very important to me.

Internationally, I maintain contacts with fly tiers and casters, some of whom I have grown very fond of over the years as dear friends and personalities. We meet regularly once a year in spring to exchange ideas at the exhibition "Experience the world of Fly Fishing- EWF".

Over the years, I've seen a lot when it comes to clothing. At first I had to make my experiences with heavy, non-breathable and waxed fishing clothing.
