Catfish fishing - The adventure, the toughness of the tackle and the extreme drills are right up my alley. Catfish fishing is often a dirty, exhausting and exciting undertaking... The big rivers give you nothing if you don't try. But I like the challenge of fishing and especially the closeness to nature. I also like to go carp fishing and occasionally catch a predatory fish or two... Basically anything with fins interests me!

My career as an angler began in the classic way... When I was young, my father took me carp fishing at the quarry pond and I landed my first big catfish at the river Po in Italy when I was 16. The length was 2.19 meters! Since then, the catfish hasn't let go of me. The hobby became more and more of a passion and at some point I got it in my head that I wanted to make fishing a career.

The time had come in 2014... I quit my job as a qualified nurse and took a job as a guide at a catfish camp on the middle reaches of the river Po. Shortly thereafter, I was able to gain a foothold at Zebco, one of the leading manufacturers of fishing equipment in Europe. I started out as a field tester and soon became a member of Team Black Cat and Team Radical.

Meanwhile I am the proud owner of Waller-Welt 2.0, the only boat rental and guiding service on the upper reaches of the river Po in Italy. In the many, many hours that I have spent in recent years on the big river or elsewhere in the rough nature, Geoff Anderson's clothing has always been a faithful companion to me. I don't know how else I would have survived many rainy and stormy days, or many bitterly cold nights.

At the same time, I turned my second hobby, filming, into my job. My skills in this area perfectly complement my activities as an angler. I taught myself everything in the "learning by doing" mode and meanwhile I regularly produce videos for the company Zebco and of course for the company Pijawetz :-)

Travel and Surroundings

I also like to discover nature elsewhere in the world... At first my wife and I went to the Far East. We traveled to many Asian countries with our backpacks, but for a few years now we have been drawn to a different direction - "Africa fever" has gripped us! Cruising at random through breathtaking landscapes in a jeep and roof tent, discovering wild animals full of amazement and joy and ending the evening at the campsite with a “sundowner”... That's exactly our thing!

My passion for traveling has always combined well with various fishing trips. I was, for example, in Spain and Hungary for catfish fishing, in Ireland for pike fishing, on the River Moy for salmon fishing, in Namibia on the Okavango and in Botswana on the Zambezi for tiger tetra fishing, as well as in the Maldives, in Sri Lanka, in the Dominican Republic, in Indonesia and deep sea fishing in the Azores.
